Abstract：As a literary school, postcolonialism receives more and more attention from the literary critics and writers, especially those from the formal colonies. The English Patient is the masterpiece of the Canadian innovative writer-Michael Ondaatje. And this thesis expounds postcolonialism, especially Said' s Orientalism in Michael Ondaatje's The English Patient.
